The Creamy or Chunky Almond Butter
Posted by Sherry Do on
Creamy or chunky? That's the first and only hurdle you'll need to think about before you begin this simple and easy recipe. You might be looking around you, a raised brow gestured at your partner, your children or perhaps your own precious pet to decipher what everyone would be happy with. Try not to fret though my friend, it is not a one and done decision that will affect your life, but a delicious one you can always remake, change and love over and over again.
With the different types of nuts we sell it could change the taste drastically, honey caramel nuts could make a very sweet but healthy paste that people with a love for sugar would enjoy for example me!
Ingredients
- 500g lightly roasted, honey caramelized, raw or smoked almonds from our store!
- A pinch of salt
Method
Hopefully by now you have a vague understanding of what you'd like to have done! To begin:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/ 160C Fan/Gas 4. Pre-heating is one of the most essential steps that many people overlook, you want to make sure everything cooks evenly and is timed correctly so this is the first route you'd need to make it work.
2. Roast the almonds on a baking tray for 12 minutes or until lightly toasted, make sure they don't burn! (it won't taste very good if it does).
3. Transfer to a blender or a food processor to make everything break down, you will be able to get the right consistency by stopping every so often, making sure its just right by having a taste.
4. You should see the paste turning oily as it keeps blending, make sure to scrape the sides around so everything gets blended.
5. Once you get it to the exact consistency you want, feel free to season, then mix again in the blender for a few seconds.
6. Last transfer the paste over to a container and wrap over with cling film to store in the fridge. Make sure to use it up within a few weeks, but with how tasty it is, you'd only have it for a few days.
We hope it turns out well for you, make sure to comment on facebook, instagram or twitter with your recipe, we'd love to hear from you.
